Oregon and White Water Rafting

Ahh, the weekend approaches.

Okay so it’s only Wednesday, but that means that tomorrow is Thursday and on Friday I’m heading to Oregon! (After work that is). For the past 2 months my weekends have been filled with SCUBA diving and well… more SCUBA diving! But this weekend will be a little different. In talking with a prospective business partner and friend, I was invited to his family’s house in Medford, Oregon to visit and I accepted since I’ve never been. He also mentioned he and his father were going White Water Rafting, something I’ve been wanting to do for a few months now. This just seems like an excellent opportunity to see Oregon, have some fun and work on a new business project – searchNrecovery.com.

I don’t want to delve too deep into the business project, so let’s just say it’s a SCUBA related venture. Since both Ryan (my friend) and I are now MSDs (Master Scuba Divers) and we are close to becoming DMs (Dive Masters) it might just turn into a niche little business.

Without digressing too much, from what I understand we are rafting / kayaking down the Rouge River, a Class II rapid. Unfortunately being that it’s only a Class II, it probably won’t have many obsticles or dangers, meaning a little less excitment. In the past, whenever I’ve looked into rafting, it’s been down the Kern river, a Class IV. Class IV have erratic waves and holes, large obstructions, waterfalls, ledges, etc. I’ll let you know how it goes when I get back – hopefully I will have some pictures!
