73 Million sharks killed per year seems like an extremely high number. I wonder if that’s a real number or something made up to scare people?
I’m not a fan of excess regulations, nor do I think the federal government is very good at anything it does, but the Shark Conservation Act of 2009 is one of those bills that doesn’t affect the large majority of people and could probably help close off the market for killing sharks which in turn would reduce the number killed in the wild.
