Master Scuba Diver Trainer

A week ago I submitted my online application to PADI for Master Scuba Diver Trainer or MSDT and in less than a week I had a letter from PADI saying congrats and my new credentials:

I only wish I had chosen the Project Aware card design like I did with my Open Water card:

After I got my Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) certification I took an MSDT class from our Course Director but the actual certification doesn’t kick in until we get 25 certifications. I passed that mark and sent in my paperwork.

For those who are interested, after one of my fellow instructors talked to PADI, instructors looking to continue leadership training (that was my attempt at “PADI talk”) there are no discover scuba diving student limits on applying for MSDT. The only limit they have is when you go for Master Instructor (I believe) in which the maximum is 75 certifications from discover scubas (or about 325 discover scuba students).
