I’m getting used to writing in markdown. Most of my day is spent in text editors like Atom and ST3 these days looking at front-end code, writing some automation, taking test session notes and publishing stuff to GitHub. As a by-product I’ve taken to writing more and more in Github flavored markdown.
Naturally it would be extremely convenient if WordPress came out-of-the-box with support for markdown because I could just drop some thoughts into my editors throughout the day and hit publish. (Not really but you get the idea). Turns out if you install Jetpack and activate the Markdown settings, it’s entirely possible.
Oh and if you forget or want clarification on what markdown is supported, luckily WordPress has a cheat sheet as a reference.
