“FINALLY!…..I’m back in the water”

This post was written by my Search N Recovery co-author Ryan Redlin:

So it’s been a little while since I’ve been in the water, and what better way to shake the rust off the gear than to hit the pool. If it’s been a while, you should treat your gear like it’s a brand new set that needs to be broken in. Take the time to fully inspect your gear and test every piece before taking it out in the open water(you and your dive buddy will be glad you did). I personally feel that if it’s been more than 6 months since the gear has been out, you should have it serviced before you hit the water to ensure that all the small working parts you can’t see are in fact working properly.

If you feel a little unsure of dive procedures after a little vacation from S.C.U.B.A. diving, don’t feel like an amateur: take a scuba review class. That little bit of info you get from the review could save you, or another diver’s life!
